Is there a way to date the usage of this Stamps.com meter? I think it may be one of the earlier ones. I know Stamps.com apparently started in 1999 and since this shows a $0.20 rate for Presort Std., maybe it can be dated by the rate?

Any help will be appreciated.

Meters have been under a window of "migration"
from the old hand held /operated meter machines to the modern fully digital
machine that can be reset over the internet.

I think your example is a fully digital example.

I always thought the date was shown somewhere on the label,
but not in your case it seems.

Perhaps the date is concealed in the "laser readable block"
formed by all those little squares.

Maybe the date is the last digitits in the code =01/7/97?
or 003 (2003)
