Drew Let us know where you get bitten Seriously though, if a load more members sign up and get posting it would be brill ! Then I'd need even more time out of my busy schedule to read all the messages....or better still, I could take an extra day off just for the forum Yeah ! I'll speak with my boss tomorrow. Londonbus1....sure you'll all want to know how it goes PS. As of the edit, things have evened up slightly. 27 members and 37 lurkers. |

Would it possibly be that a Lurker is someone who may even be a member, uses the system but doesn't log off at nite or in the morning, so their pc goes "to sleep"...they're lurking? I know I've been logged in weeks at a time when I've not been on 24/7... Yawn... and I'm probably aware that I should log out. |

Yes..this happens...sometimes I forget to log in so technically I am "lurking" although I am already a member |

It's nice to see a few new members looking in. Hope they make a few posts ! I also don't log out ! Even when I'm not in. In other words, when I'm out. So when I'm out, I don't log out. What a strange language |

So London, are you saying the lights are on but nobody is home?
I've wondered about that for a while. |

Maybe some lurkers have an issue with there written word so as to communicate online. I found it difficult to understand what my online personality was. Quite unnerving at times and still something that I am trying to get together and be use to doing. It is just not that easy for some of us.
I am a one finger typer and I do not think that will change. I am very happy with this level of typing.
Spell check on this forum gave me a confidence that is very special for me to even begin to start to be apart of this forum.
Just because our written English is not the best SCF offers somewhere that is safe to grow in this area. Sometimes we just have to take a risk. I am saying SCF is the place to take that risk. KGV |

It has just occurred to me that a lot of lurkers have joined us since Jan this year. I maybe wrong but it looks to me that the active members have doubled in this time. Before any of us joined we were all lurkers first of all. It is so nice that so many have taken the risk and joined us here on SCF. |

Swab, it could be that people are unwilling to commit...i belong to a couple of groups outside of stamps and one mens organization needs new members badly as we are aging...its very tough..some blame the economy but that should not be the case here.... |

I spend most of my time lurking as I feel I have nothing productive to contribute to the conversations. |

Some of the lurkers are probably search engine robots as well (Googlebot, MSNbot, etc). |
