On my laserwriters, there are panels that I can open up and bypass both the paper tray (i.e., manual feed) and the face-down output (that extra roll around is simply to get it to output in the same order as printing). In fact, many of the cheapest laserwriters don't even have a paper tray -- they are by default straight feed through.
In the schematic in the previous post, you can actually see the panel to open for straight output at left. The schematic doesn't show a manual feed tray to bypass the paper tray. But many laserwriters do have one. |

I'm more used to corporate level of printers which match the layout of the diagram not consumer. Thanks for the info. |

The paper feedthrough paths and options vary among manufacturers. I'm not familiar with laserwriters sold in Europe. |

Forgot to mention that I've always used an inkjet printer without any damage to the following or forward pages in my albums. I currently use a HP deskjet 5650 which takes 20 pound paper without any difficulty. |

Blackjag, I'm a little curious. I've never used inkjet for album pages. Many have told me don't, and yet most of the collectors that I know who do use inkjet tell me they have not experienced any problems and they especially love color album color pages (and I agree, they do look great!).
I always forget to ask one question -- do you or anyone you know encounter problems with ink run when you attach the mount or hinges?

khj, I have used inkjet for my album pages for years with no problems with transfer to the other pages or mounts. However, I have experienced toner transfer from lower end laser printers. I have used upper end laser copier/printers with no problems. Edit: Paper quality is very critical with inkjet. Smooth surface and heavy weight is essential. |

khj - I always position my mounted stamps in an area, such as a slightly larger "box", that has no ink under it, so have never had a leaching problem. See my example album page on age 2 of this discussion.
Also, I make sure that the page has time to fully dry after printing before handling or mounting stamps onto it as inkjet printing will smear if not allowed to dry. |

Great Link, Anthony!
I updated my list over in the Philatelic Book, Reference, Supply and Software section.
Thanks, KirkS |
