As I have stated in other threads, one of my collecting interests is Canadian military mail for all eras. One interesting phase of WW II for Canada was a small force of the army in Alaska helping out the US with the Japanese there. Mail can be identified usually with a C.A.P.O. (Canadian Army Post Office) # 51. I might add that it is the most expensive CAPO marking at this time.
I am trying to remember facts from the top of my head as I type this posting and if memory serves me correctly, some of the Canadian military personell that were there were also men who had faught alongside the RAF in the Battle of Britain.
Looks like both sender and recipient have the surname Thomas... The Thomas in Germany may have been a US citizen, or vise-versa, which could trigger curiousity within goverment types... ??? Seems to me that just the fact that one side opened a letter, could trigger the other side to open it too...
