filipo, nice covers. The third cover is the oldest showing the 18 3/4 cent rate. Until about 1847 the letter rate for single page was 12 1/2 cent for up to 150 miles and 18 3/4 cent for 150 to 300 miles. The 18 3/4 cent would have paid the single page rate from Ithaca to New York (a distance of about 230 miles). The last cover would be 1851 to 1855 since this was the 3 cent rate period before the mandatory use of postage stamps.
All of the covers have nice clear postmark strikes. Very nice covers thanks for posting.

Russ, thank you for your knowledge you are sharing with us!

Do you think that any of the covers I posted on this thread possibly could have some higher value or they all are just usual?

The second cover may be of interest to some collectors. The postmark reads "CHATHAM 4 CORNERS" the current city of Chatham Corners was called Chatham Four Corners until 1869. That provides a rather unusual postmark. The third cover has a value of $20-30.

Thanks! I am not going to sell them, I am going to give them all as a gift to my cousin, who is a real collector. So, I just didn't want to gift something which could be a higher value... :)

Nice covers! Chatham Corners is just south of where I live, but this is the first postmark I've seen from that town.

I always like to scan and share these covers and stamps with you people, but, although already learned something (not too much) about stamps, about postmarks and cancels still don't know anything. So, I can't scan all of them... but, I will scan more covers from this collection, so maybe someone find out more interesting postmarks :)

I'm a bit confused. What does 2WW in the title mean? I was thinking the Second World War, but the covers tell another story.

This is a World War II cover with an censored strike and signed. The nice part about this cover is the letter is still inside. The envelope has a tear in the front which is why I am keeping it in a archival covering. Interesting to note that the letter never left the United States, it still had to go through the process of being censored and inspected.
