I purchased this stamp from an APS sales circuit recently. It was identified as Scott 55. I identified the watermark as no. 112. The stamp also has an inverted frame. So, Scott 55b.

Looking at the value in my 2021 Scott catalog I saw $6,000. Ok, too good to be true. Carefully examining the surcharge, it looks to be on top of the cancel. Therefore, fake surcharge. And the surcharge looks awful compared to another Scott 55 in my collection.

The fake will still find a place in my collection, probably way in the back.
Thanks,
Robert
