How do I remove a Schaubek mount from a page. I need to replace three already mounted mounts due to wrinkles & folds.

are these the hingless Album Schaubek pages? or a type of mount you placed into a album?

I've heard people talking about Stamp Lift liquid if its a mount that is NOT built into a page.

As the owner of a Schaubek Hingeless, I don't think it can be done.

But if you do pull it off (pun intended), PLEASE post your technique, results and/or a scan here for the rest of us to see.

to the SCF. I hope you dig in and stay awhile!

If you're talking about hingeless pages - I've never seen one of these beautiful albums in person, but my guess is that you're going to do some damage no matter how you try to remove them.

If you're talking about ShowGard type mounts - it depends on how much moisture was used to stick them. I've carefully removed them before, but there is always a little damage. Fortunately, I use black mounts so the damage is covered up.

These are Schaubek hingeless pages. How about stamp lift applied to the back of the page? Would the stamp lift soak thru the page and loosen the grip of the glue and then the mount would release?

I don't think so.

You're operating under the assumption the mounts in the album are the same type you would purchase and place on a blank page.

If you examine your hingeless pages closely, I believe you will agree with me that those mounts are different. For one thing, there is no adhesive on the back of the mounts except along the top edge where they are affixed to the page. And that glue seems to be much stronger than normal mounts.

Good point, Edwin.

I have also done that -- once I purchased a supplement that had faulty mounts. I call them and told them; they immediately sent me a replacement page. I offered to return the damaged one and the nice lady said it would just be a waste of my postage and her time; she told me to just trash the bad one.

The pages are PRC China and took 10 weeks to arrive by special order from Germany. But it may be possible, not sure. The mounts are German Hawdid/Schauflix and are replaceable. Maybe a blank page and a mount would do it?
