Hey!

As requested, I looked through my foreign covers and I chose a few that was something special. (although not very special I think..) I only picked covers that were in good shape. I have many covers which are broken, sadly.
1st.

This is german letter, with lots of stamps due to inflation. No letter inside.

Just took this one because of the many many CDS/cancels. Although, most of them are Swedish.

Nice colours with some purple and a litte cyan/blue on the backside. Along with the almost pink/purple "thingy" on the front.

I just took a postcard that was very intact and looked nice.

Here's an envelope for sending photographs. My only envelope of this type.

That's it. I had a few that were yellow and such but not in that very good shape. Some from Jerusalem, Mocambique, Israel, you name it...

Anyway.. rain some comments on them please!

Thanks!

Tomten: I found the Morristown postcard very moving. The stamp by itself would be just a nice stamp with a wavy line cancel, but the postmark, the beautiful handwriting and the main street scene bring a completeness to it all. Looking at the scene I wished everything would begin moving much like how some movies begin.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings! And I have to agree on everything you said basically. I'm just really moved by the fact that it could be 100 years ago..

The second cover is absolutely stunning. The Swedish postage due handstamps are very ornate. Nice dated duplex Fort Worth cancel and New York machine cancel transit backstamp. Wonderful collection!

It is great to see those German hyper-inflation period used and from a fascinating period of history.

Nice covers! Unfortunately, I'm at a hotel for work and the internet connection is shakey. I'll have to view them again once I get home this weekend.
Thanks for posting them.

Tomten,

I don't want to see you get introuble trying to sell too soon...
once you get your 50 posts on here you will have access to the auction site (see the rules). I'm sure people will be interested at that time. those 50 posts will come quick, until then I suggest you keep going like you are and share great items thru pictures, add comments and ideas. take time to become part of the family and settle in and most of all enjoy all the info on this site.

I too, like the 2nd cover with the nice cancels.
Advice above about selling too soon... spot on. Wait see where you are.
There's not usually enough in one cover to make a difference, but later, you may
begin to see a pattern in the letters / covers / as I have. Meanwhile, enjoy.

Battlestamps; Hopefully they won't run away until the weekend then :D

Edwin, bfranton; I'm not really trying to sell them yet, just that I'd like to get a better picture of what they're worth. I just recently achieved my 50 posts in the Coin-section, however I think I'll start on Ebay/Tradera(swedish ebay). I don't think I will start selling those covers for a long while. I'm supposed to sell my 1500 foreign coins before going over to sorting stamps/covers. :P

I understand what your point is and I will wait. There's a bit TOO much information on this site.. At least at first.. it's like when you have flown to Africa and step out of the airplane.. WHAM, wall of heat and moisture. Here's it information instead of heat and moisture. But we get used to it :)

I have lots of stamps and old documents that I would need some expert help on. Is there any special place for posting old documents? Such as, some shipping port registery a.s.o?

Thanks!
