The first US airmail stamp was the 24 cent Curtiss Jenny but in 1918. (pretty expensive for the time).
The first country to issue an airmail stamp was Italy in 1917.

That is a great stamp! Bobgggg posted it on the first page of this thread, but it deserves being seen again. I looked up (in my new Scott Catalogues courtsey of Triggersmob and one of the GREAT , FANTASTIC CONTESTS we have here!), and I was surprised at the price of the stamp--I thought it being the first airmail of the World it would be higher priced.

You can buy a CD or subscribe ($20 a year) and print out all the album pages you want. Other folks on here led me to the site and I'm using it for all my Central American albums. You can choose to include as much or as little of each country as you like.

I bought 65# acid free stock and some nice binders at Office Depot and the ones I put together came out really great!
