As I'm brand new here, I'm trying to add content that I think might be useful to people. I'll be following other people's questions to see if I can help or contribute, but I thought I'd try to add a thing or two myself.

A hobby of mine is a form of "postal art" in which I try to match stamps, official USPS pictorial cancellations, and (sometimes) a card or piece of artwork. I'm actually cited in Wikipedia as an example/authority on the topic (!) -- which should tell you more about the (questionable) quality of Wikipedia sources than about my knowledge level.

I've written a basic how-to and have some galleries, but reading the forum rules I don't think it's proper for me to link to them yet. I thought I'd post a few of my favorites relating to Christmas, as that season is upon us.

As a sideline to my hobby, I do like the fancy cancellations that are produced here and there and these Christmas cancellations are quite nice.

I don't seek and buy them per se but keep whatever comes my way.

I also request pictorial postmark quite frequently. I usually make my own cachet covers and use postcards every now and then. I do not make Maxi cards or allover cachet covers, but do like seeing nice examples such as the ones you've shown. I'll have to scan some of my new ones when I get them back.
