I'm an older collector with philatelic experience off and on for 68 years. My present collection goal is to get a postally used stamp from each country or administration in the world. I know some are impossibly expensive, but I'm making progress and am now working on the new countries, and the special official issues like the Swiss organizational ones. Anyone else with similar goals?

Welcome lopemopay:

You're going to love SCF -- we all do. There are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here. I'm sure you'll find others with a similar goal. Personally, I try to limit myself to a few countries, but it takes a lot of willpower.

Hello lopemopay, welcome!

I have limited myself (is this even a realistic goal for a stamp collector?) to certain issues and cancels.

But I find I am buying a page of stamps to get the one I want so end up with a lot of different stamps. I think I am collecting a stamp from every country sometimes.

I do have to sell / give more away to maintain my collecting goals but I think my brain had it's own collecting goals before I thought to have any and it is always winning.

There are a couple of folks on here who are doing similar collections to yours.

welcome! I do believe that there are a few whom are in the process of collecting 1 stamp from each country. I know there have been a couple topic threads about that. I am sure you have much to share with us.

Welcome to SCF lopemopay. Once you hit the magic 50 posts, you can start to solicit help from other SCF members in obtaining your missing countries. Are you limiting yourself to current stamp issuing authorities?
