Hi to all

I do not know how many of you have solved the problem of removing the Self Adhesive stamps from the backing paper of envelopes etc.
I have found a simple way.
You get a hairdryer and put it on medium heat. You concentrate the heat on on corner. This enables you to lift the corner gently, then concentrate the heat under the lifted corner. This will cause the adhesive to loosen, and you can gently pull the stamp of while still concentrating the heat.
works every time and no damage to the stamps.
Regards,
Horamakhet

Cheers.
Can I ask what you then do with it? Talcum powder or stick it back down on a backing sheet etc?

Hi AnthonyUK

I usually turn them gum side up for a few hours on newspaper. This seems to settle the adhesive so it does not stick again.

Thanks. I'll try that as even though removing them with chemicals works well I'd prefer not to.

I'll try it late at night.

If my mates see me with a hairdryer,
they may get the wrong impression :)

I could write a dozen captions for that photo -- elephant trunks, a recording studio, ...
