I am not sure an elegant and honourable pillar box such as this should be celebrated in such a fashion!!

Me too!
and a mauve shirt with ruffles

I was born just 10km away from Sherborne,
I wish I had known about the postbox.

Looks like some beautiful "Lilly of the valley"
near the posties leg. Marvelous fragrance.

How remarkable! I was brought up in Sixpenny Handley, near Blandford. My wife was brought up in Sturminster and when I showed her this said her Godfather photographed her as a child beside it! Turns out it was his hobby to photograph Pillar Boxes. Will have to find out more. Didnt expect to meet a local here!

I'm from 80 miles further to the East, Warlingham in Surrey.

I also had pants like those, but mine were green. Also
had the body shirt to go with it (if not the body to go with it).

I had trousers like that back in '74, usually teamed with a cheesecloth shirt, and a pair of dark blue platform boots, which cost me over two week's wages at the time from a trendy mens "boutique" in Rhyl, North Wales.
Eee, those were the days! Fashions may change but I still love Led Zep loud, just like back then. When the wife is out, of course!

Could you tell me please if the India Post has discontinued the "Meghdoot / Megdhoot (?)" cards?

Believe it or not, I have made arrangements recently, and just received word, that I am about to receive 555 different ones very shortly. Already have 125 different ones <G>

yeah, the outfit is not quite fitting the occasion. You might be able to cut yourself on those creases however.
