I'm new here and I am looking for the best way to find a non-USA pen pal. I could send you a souvenir picture postcard or a regular postcard and you would mail me one from your country. That way we could collect neat stamps even though they are cancelled. I live in the state of Kentucky. We are well known for our race horses and the Kentucky Derby.

I can't find a forum for this specific idea. Any other ideas that can help me do this? Steve

Welcome to the forum bluegrassriver!

We have many members in other countries which may be interested in doing this.
Actually quite a bit of correspondence in the mail goes on between established members.

This can be considered a very positive feature and validation for many stamps which never carry a letter - "postally used."

Thanks. I would prefer picture postcards finding them more interesting but if the non-USA pen pal would like a stamped envelope or something differnt I would try to accomodate.

So, back to my question. Is there a place to go on this site to find a list of people in foreign countries who want to swap?

We are glad to have you here! Hopefully you can make a post card pal here from another country. Good luck! Please share with us some of your post cards in the post card forum--we would love to see some!

If I get a post card and stamp from another country I will be sure to post it if of course I am allowed to per the rules. I have less than 50 posts and I don't want to get in trouble. I am on probation so to speak.

it's fine if you just send a pen-pal/friend suprize stamps and they send you some back, it's only serious trading like specific things for trade and buying/selling that you can't post in yet. just don't look at those forums till yous 50 quality posts, then theres no restrictions, the basic idea is just so people can get to know you as a trusted member.
