Well, Yes actually it seems
Today I got a nice pictorial cancel from Halifax,Nova Scotia.
Canada is another of those countries where the mail usually misses the canceller !
But today not.....

Actually, I did a thread that covered that sort of thing awhile back. I think the topic title was SOTN or punched in both eyes (?) I will try to find it because that stamp would fit perfectly.

I posted this one quite awhile back. The eye on the left side of the stamp looked strange, so I did a close up and sure enough, the period in the cancellation hit the President right in the eye!

They keep piling in !
And I am left to wish that a Postal service would cancel my stamps

Two today, this nice piece with lovely stamps....at least they would have been with a nice light crisp cancel.
Instead they will return to the UK with some gluestick for company.

I decided I will send a scan of every uncancelled packet by email to the guilty Postal service.
From this little endeavour only one thing is certain......I will not get a reply !

I posted this before, but it is a classic SOB

An awful stamp but a superb cancel !
The poor kid is suffering from it !

LB, did you get those Canada 84 labels yet I sent? If so was envelope cancelled?

Which is worse ... getting a non-cancelled stamp or getting a cancelled stamp that looks like this? Believe it or not, it just came in today's mail on a greeting card. If I didn't know the sender, I would be hard pressed to guess that the splattering of the spray-on cancel actually reads 14 Feb 2011:



It seems we can't win either way with the post office ... either we get no cancel at all or a pathetic looking one like this. Either way, nothing particularly collectible.

Yes it was BeeSee ! In fact I have just checked it and it was quite over cancelled, but much better than nothing.
I did reply to you on the other thread, along with another lucky member who wanted the same sheets....but I cannot find the thread

More 'nice' uncancelled stamps have been arriving [a few cancelled too-surprise,surprise].

Here is one from Sweden. Twice a year I get a Cinderella magazine and almost every time, there are no cancels.= Swedish gluestick
This particular one did get a cancel but not in the right place. The cancel is at the top of the envelope and it continues perfectly on the other side.
How did that happen ? Any ideas ?
A Flexible canceller maybe ?

Received yesterday (Friday), packed from the US with 8 or 9 stamps on the cover, not one cancelled.
