I don't know if this is postcard or envelope or some type of stamped letter. Does anyone know where this came from (don't say Hungary) and maybe a catalog number. There is writing on the back so I am going to assume it is from a postcard.

Guess :
The paper would indicate brown processed paper,
which would rule out a postcard.
I would suggest a Newspaper Wrapper.

The Post Office once was a major source of delivering
news to the public, along with their poached eggs and bread
with wispy steam coming from the toast rack.

Rod here is the other side of the card. The color is more and a dirty from being handled vanilla (according to my wife) and I think the writing would indicate a card, but the texture does not feel right.

I'll let this one pass through to the keeper.
You'll need an Hungarian stationery afficianado,
another option is a lettercard, but I am not aware if Hungary
used them.

I am still troubled by the brown paper
of the indicia.

I dug through my archives, and seven years ago
I had a query, which was answered by Mr. Jay Carrigan.

I'd almost bet your Superannuation that yours is not
a postcard.

That's the texture, a card for a registered letter or like the above, I bet you are right "oh archived one". P.S. superannuation mate? that's an australian thing.

Superannuation is a retirement (including pensions) program in Australia. It has a compulsory element whereby employers are required by law to pay an additional amount based on a proportion of an employee's salaries and wages (currently 9%) into a complying superannuation fund, which can be accessed when the employee meets one of the conditions of release contained in Schedule 1 of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations 1994.

PS: Try not to be too confident on the parcel card etc,
philately has a keen record of tripping people up.
Keep your example B.o.b with the suggestion of it's ID,
you never know when you'll meet it again.

You are right of course, but ever since I put that on I struggled with the texture and when you put that up for me, it made all sorts of sense, Our green registered mail cards that we fill out are the same texture. Not quite postcard. My dad was a publisher of a newspaper so I spent many a day with newspaper wrappers, so I was quite sure the consistency was too thick for that. I think you got it, but I will wait for someone to put up a picture of the entire object for me. Thanks again - Jeff

I think you / we are very fortunate to have such skillful
people aboard SCF, to have this thread answered and your Albania
transfer deed is astonishing in its speed.
I'll take letter-card, thanks to our skillful researcher 22crows.
What threw me a little is the front and back of your piece
is so different in colouration, maybe the scanner or toning,
This is the first time I recall seeing what looks like
laid paper design in a letter-card piece.
There's a first time for everything. :)
