You guys are all so good I'm tempted to post another tragic example for your expert advice!

Stay tuned, I'll have to fire up the old computer with the scanner on it!

OK, here's another example of tragedy due to poor philatelic technique. Maybe you saw the lovely Chilean block posted here https://goscf.com/t/1290 .

This is a block of one of the regular issues from that series. It looks as if this collector affixed it to an album page by moistening the stamps on the lower left and upper right corners, both of which were damaged when someone removed the block from the page.

Here's the back, mint never hinged but double licked (MNHDL).

What does our distinguished panel of doctors suggest?

A public flogging, is in order, for the former owner
of those stamps.

And then after the flogging, six Saturdays, of detention
with:

Sister, Filomena Atellic, one heck of a stamp collector

Whoa, she's spooky.

I knew a Sister Mary Machete, but she was from the old school and dressed differently.

I went to that school! She looks just like sister Mary Constance ,whom I am named after! Those scary memories were deeply embedded in my brain cells never to surface-----UNTIL now!

Unfortunately, the stamp tragedy was probably someone who didn't know what they were doing--a newbie like me! ha

This isn't a stamp tragedy, but there are a few things I learned while sorting a 1,000 stamps.
1. Never sneeze on the separated piles!
2. Never take your eyes off your 2 yr old grandson! He climbed up to the kitchen table where I had my piles of sorted stamps all nice and neat, and while I was cooking bacon and had my back turned to him he grabbed a couple of handfuls of "sorted stamps" and went "Weeeee!" all over the place with them. The little stinker!

Lessons learned!
