That's pretty tacky!
But in a way, kind of cute.
[Sorry Tom, couldn't resist the pun.]

So how would you mount stamps to protect them. Yes I am that new? I don't have any stamps like that yet but you never know. |

Bandicoot, I'm fairly new at the hobby myself. IMHO for stamps that are mint or CTO in order to preserve the gum I use a mount for them but for used stamps w/o gum or gum in bad shape I just go ahead and use a regular ole hinge. |

Cimmaron, there really is no need to preserve the gum on CTO stamps. You can even soak it off if you like. |

As I thought it would, the Stamp Lift box was producing a sticky mess so the stamps were soaked instead. Here they are proudly housed in their new and much more deserving home in one of my Scott Internationals. There were nine in all, Canada's complete issue for 1927. Not shown is Scott E3, a special delivery stamp issued that year that's on another page. Yes, they are no gum examples, but as Herman Hearst pointed out long ago, original gum is the most expensive commodity on earth. None of these is damaged and they all look very nice. And they won't get those darned gum spots as they continue to age, either. |

Thanks everyone. As for the question about a way to "re-glue them," some have, and probably do still practice this nefarious art. It's not for me. |
