This is a nifty card I found of what it says was the first automobile factory in the US. Seems a bit odd... But the REALLY cool thing is this building is still standing. We drive by it a few times a month. I didn't know until I saw this card that the Grout was built there! It is now a tire warehouse.

Nice card! The Grout was a steam-powered car, too. Company was only in business from 1899-1912 according to this Wiki history of the company, so I suspect the card shown must be dated toward the end of that period...still a nice example of the industrial age of an entire century ago!

I actually took the photo of the Grout that is in that listing! It was taken at the Orange Airport during a steam show. Nice ot know one exists so close to the original factory!

Poor scan, but here's a 2010 Hemmings article about the car and one of the examples with an asking price of $80,000 versus its original price of $1200.
