Hi All. If you all know me, you know that I may not post for awhile and then BAM, I post an article...lol Here's what I need to know.

I've been doing some serious stamp diving in the last couple of days and I have hit a patch of stamps from the Trucial States. I found this definition http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ved=0CBcQkAE of what the states were and then found this thread https://goscf.com/t/8713&whichpage=...erms=fujeira from SCF

In the thread someone mentioned Manama, but I didn't see it mentioned in the list of States that was also posted in the thread. I've also come across a few stamps that I have, that depict cats and dogs from Manama, Dependency of Ajam and a few that say Ajam State And Its Dependencies. If I was to set them up in the right category by State, would they be a separate country of Manama or do they get filed away under Ajam?

I also have two other stamps that say Manama, South Arabia. One depicts JFK shaking hands in a crowd and the other depicts JFK, LBJ, and RFK standing in a discussion. Are they the same as part of the Trucial States or has Manama split from the alliance?

Donna,

These stamps are most likely bogus as different agencies printed them, hence the varying descriptions.

The only postally-valid Manama issues are those of Ajman surcharged and overprinted in 1966 and 1967.

Another City of Manama is the capital of Bahrain.

But enjoy them, they are a fascinating part of Middle East Philately.
