That was the 1940's edition of today's Automated Postal Center! To some, it may represent the start of the demise of the postage stamp, though.

Actually, the 1 cent postage imprint doesn't look that different from some of the more modern Pitney Bowes devices. The war slogan is great though, certainly a nice enhancement to the card.
