Going to spend 4 days, hitting the antique shops, and flea markets
up in Lancaster Pa.

There is a strip, that runs between Reading and Lancaster, that is loaded with antique shops, Flea Markets, and antique malls, that spans a good 40-50 miles.

There is going to be a large Auction in Lancaster Monday, around 10 am. Hoping to find some boxed lots, or some old albums.

Sounds like fun, Bob. It will give you
a chance to get away from Phil, too.

I was stationed in Virginia, Maryland and the D.C. area for various periods of time. I didn't spend a lot of time in PA, but I liked the area. I know you have much more access to stamp related activities - especially shows - and the APS complex. I really miss those.

We're not much for long road trips these days, but we have talked about flying up that way from time to time. You never can tell!

Swabbie you are not kidding..cost of travel is skyrocketing..when I first went to my Dads condo around 1990 I could make the 1350 miles on 4 10 dollar tanks of gas..flying or driving it costs either way !

I made the trip to the stamp store in Shreveport today. It cost me $40 for the 180 or so mile round trip.

Boy did I strike out !! Thank goodness my wife has a
good sniffer !!

Friday, when I was about to leave work, I went in to say
good night to my boss, and I told him about the upcoming
mini- vacation.

He handed me three Cuban cigars, and told me to have a great time
with the Mrs.

This afternoon, I'm at this huge outdoor flea market, smoking the
big Cubanos, when I come across a box lot of early US covers
that the vendor is asking for a hundred bucks.

I get him done to 65 bucks, and up pops my wife.

She asks me how much am I spending for this pile of S&&t, and
I tell her 65 bucks.

She tells me, "You ain't bringing that smelly, mildew infested
box into my house. "

Its remarkable, how a $25.00 Cuban cigar can kill your sense
of smell..

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day
