Chan is fairly readily available, but decidedly not cheap: $US90 for two volumes, covering 1878-1949. I could scan bits for you, but not all 897 pages, I'm afraid.

Ok Rod not I am not terribly smart but I do have a pretty good memory. Just so that people helping me realize that I am paying attention and learning. I thought I recognized my stamp from an earlier thread

so I am going to go with Scott 2N127 $1 on 8c deep orange 1945 additional overprints of Inner Mongolia (Meng Chiang). I did look it up to try and verify. I think I got it. Yes/No? Give it to me straight!

my problem was the red overprint - it was a denomination and so was not in the book EXACTLY so. I got the top but needed help to realize it was a "one dollar" over eight. That was why I posted it a couple of weeks ago. Love the workout though, thanks. Jeff

Out of curiosity, does Scott give an integrated list of the Chinese characters used in the surcharges and overprints? If it doesn't, I could put one together here.

I am not sure what you mean by integrated, but it does list the surcharges. With the particular one that I was doing with Rod, I found the Inner Mongolia part, but it did not give me any indications about dollar value, so I was unsure about the red surcharge until someone said it was a dollar value and could tell me what the dollar value was. Does that answer your question, maybe?
