I could use a little help here. I don't want to remove from album pages if I don't have to. Can anyone do an id for a couple of early Queensland. I think??? they are Scott 13 used (pen cancel) and Scott 17 unused hinged (albeit very poorly centered). I have not enhanced the scans or the color. If I should let me know. All help appreciated - Jeff

You know what, I am going to put the rest of my Queensland up here, there aren't that many and hope that people like the scans and can help me with the indentifiction. Too many 1 cent yellos and orange for me. All help sincerely appreciated. - Jeff

If you're going to pin these down, I'm afraid you're probably going to have to take them off the page. There are just too many watermark (and no watermark) variations, not to mention different perforation gauges, to identify them otherwise.

Jeff, the first one looks like it could be SG 22 (1d orange vermilion) with a used CV of 12 pounds (possibly a bit higher today than in 2001).

The second one would seem to be SG 19 (1s violet), with a mint CV of 350 pounds, except that this one does not appear to be perf 14 - 15.5. There must be another stamp that looks very like it, but I can't see it in my catalogue at the moment.

In sum, there are perf/watermark varieties for both stamps, so you'd need to tell me what the perfs and watermarks are for me to be more precise.

However, that pen cancel is a worry. It could well indicate fiscal use.

As to identification, without the watermark and perforation gauge, as far as I can see, it could be any of SG 21, 22, 30, 37, 44, 51, 52a, 59, 74, 80, 83, 94, 110 or 114.
