I had these identified some time back,
I must have dropped them in the wrong folder,
I cannot find them.
Year or SG number would be great.
Thanks

Onya Stallzer!
Thanks very much indeed.

I'll do my best, but I'll give you a
tip about Stanley Gibbons.
For your 1966 San martin, I'll probably have to look under
1954
...."Only mad dogs and Englishmen"

I still cannot find the top left,
apart from a guess, if anyone can nail me an SG number.

I loaded the Scott album on my HDD
which was helpful, and for the future,
but still leaves a guess on the 50p san martin.
Now it has me wondering if this is SG1075 ?

Hi Rodney,

Here is a start. Look at:

http://www.filateliaargentina.com.ar/main.eng.html

Top Left - SG 1023 or 1024 or 1024a, Scott 826 or 827
depends on size and perf)(also look at note after 868)

Top Right - SG 1476, Scott C147

Bottom Left - SG ??

Bottom Right - SG 878 or 878a, Scott 642 or 642a
(see notes after SG 878)

6p Hernandez - SG ??, Scott 818 or 819

As some of these were definitives, there were several printings and different papers used. Looking at SOTW 2010:
The 1st one might be SG1287(1970) (22.5 x 32.5 mm), if it is not SG1023.
2nd one SG1476
3rd one SG1704
4th one SG878 or variation
5th one looks like SG1075

G'day Jerry,
thanks very much,
I think I have it, stupid Stanley Gibbons,
I have to look in 1954 to get a 1959 stamp
with no description just a size and there were 3 x 50p
Same with Hernandez, I have booked a number
but just a guess, which complicates things
as they reside in "Argentine" dates, with
"Republica Argentina" script, which generally didn't
occur till the low to mid sixties.

If you mounted stamps via catalogue numbers
you would have dogs breakfast.

That is why I use blank pages. I can mount stamps in a way that makes sense. When it comes time to sell it will give a buyer trouble but underneath each mount, in pencil, is the issue date (as per the postal service), Scott Catalog No and for issues prior to 1985 a Barriga Catalog number and a Temprano catalog number.

Collecting Argentina can be a challenge...to change the subject just a bit I purchased a large bulk lot of Guatemala first day covers...and a bonus was many of the dates on the covers are the re issues which Scott does list..now I have to redo my cover albums..but its ok..the collection will be much more complete !
