I open the one with the pay check first. Then it all depends, I might open the bills first so I can cheer myself up with some new stamps afterwards. |

ALWAYS open stamp mail first, take all envelopes with stamps regardless of who the mail is for and then maybe open the other mail, unless you know it's a bill. |

Philb, the answer is obvious - open the philatelic mail first. Being a responsible person, I will eventually get to the bills but my first impulse when getting the mail from the mailbox is to grab and open the philatelic correspondence immediately. |

Yes Jubilee, I often have that feeling. Especially when I am waiting for some packets/letters and they just don't arrive ! |

Well it seems like the philatelic mail all hits at once 2 or 3 at a time and then nothing for days !! |

Like a mug, I went cycling on Friday and tried to keep up with the big guys, spent the afternoon in recovery mode as the muscles went into lock down. My post office box this morning has an "parcel awaiting pick up" card so I have to wait till Monday example. |

I open the philatelic mail or any other hobby mail that arrives first. My wife knows to open envelopes with stamps properly if she gets to the mailbox first. |

I will typically put the bills in one pile for my wife to get to and I take the philatelic mail to my desk to read after having dinner and putting my daughter to sleep. I find spending time at the end of the day on stamp related stuff to be relaxing and a great way to close out the day. |
