When I did the mailing for the SCF s/s awhile back I had a page listing the avatar next to their real name for orders. That way I could keep everything straight. I don't mind the anonymity of avatars as I use one myself. Unfortunately for me being a creature of habit I use the same one everywhere. I am sure some hacker can piece it all together. LOL!

I'm sorry to report that FluffyButt did not get the job. However, it was not because of his username. I did interview him and he was a nice young man, but not quite the right fit. Shortly thereafter he took a job in another town.

I guess the thing that was so ODD for me is that "free" email addresses are available everywhere. Nothing wrong with being fluffybutt to your friends --- but for business purposes, why not be John_Q_Smith at yahoo or something ??

Oh well, I've been told I have a bizarre sense of humor too

KirkS

ps. I'm sure he's not a collector, so I'm not worried he will see this message, but wouldn't I be embarrassed if someone said, "Hey, that's my nephew"

Hey! that's my Nephew! ....

Well that was a great chuckle, for my first
browse of SCF

So let me give one and all a generic "Thankyou"
for the stamps I received, they were great!

(If you don't get payment or return stamps, you'll know why )

There's nothing stopping you from adding your handle to the package and your note. Or in your emails. Alas, sometimes we forget and confound things. Keeping a list handy is also a good idea.

Signed, to avoid further confusion

Anyone else have this problem,
matching Avatar to name

What makes it even more confusing is when you make a deal with someone in the forum, say Rod222 for instance. Then you recieve an e-mail from Rod -----, then you receive money in your Paypal account from Rod ---- (insert here a totally different name). LOL

when I was doing the .01 sale of those stamps, I kept and still have a spreadsheet of handles/real names addresses etc..
It was the only way to keep things under control.
