My son is always asking if the mail has been delivered. We get delivery at our home. He wants to know if he got any mail. The other day he decided to "write" a letter to the postal carrier. Now my son is 4 and can only write his name, everything else comes out as a scribbled drawing. Anyway, he drew a picture, wrote his name and then folded the page a bit like a letter gram. My wife helped write TO: Postal Man or Woman on it and then placed it in the mailbox. I keep on waiting for a reply letter from the postal carrier...

My son also enjoys going to the PO and getting stamps.

Thats awesome-- I have 3 of my grandkids all interested and the youngest 3yr old is probably the most excited. Gave him a bunch of world stuff and he made his mom find out where they were from and wants to know who is on them. Send me an email with details and I'll send your son a little goody pack.

When I was a wee kid I used to send letters to long-away fictional addressees. They came back with the most marvellous markings. Even better with a registered letter/

What a fantastic idea. Of course markings these days aren't what they used to be.

moonbird,
Now that sounds like fun. Just make up an address and name and send it off hoping it'll come back and not go to the dead letter office.

At the risk of being a bad idea, If you have a PO Box, all of us can send the little guy a letter with various stamps on them. With an enclosure encouraging him to collect stamps...

stamperdude,

You can tell the little guy to expect a letter from Georgia.
It's in the mail.

StamperDude,
I'm glad the little guy enjoyed the letter. I'll try and remember to drop him a line from time to time with another packet. I have a lot of duplicates. I should have jotted down what I sent him so I don't send him any duplicates. If you have a spare set of tongs, he may be old enough to learn how to use them. Is he old enough for his own Scott Specialised U.S. catalog? I have a 2001 that I don't use anymore or is this too much too soon?

He can't even read yet, let alone use a stamp catalog. Please find another person to give the catalog too. I haven't tried to get him to use tongs properly, yet. I do have 1 set of tongs I don't use. I must confess that I actually placed the stamps in his own stock book and didn't use my tongs.

Anyone want a 2001 Scott Specialised? A little worn, a few creased pages and no writing in it. Overall its well used & well taken care of. I'll even pay the postage if it goes to a good home...

Wow, thank you. What does your daughter collect? He has a bound stock book. Maybe they can become trading partners?
