hi allhave this australian states stamp,New South Wales 1/- maroon eastern grey roo (used)perf'12x12 (line) which makes it 1888-89 SG 258b (don't know scott No's) however there is no wmk only double lined MO or MQ.looking from the back of the stamp, is it a side margin stamp,or a fake,or have I hit the jackpot.? david
hi everybody your close rod222,just had another look in my sg detectamark its definately MO, its size is at least 1/2 the height of the stamp and the full width,it could be an inverted WO, double lined,similar to 1st wmk (double lined 1)taken a photo of the wmk when my son arrives tomorrow i'll get him to upload (he's the computor wizkid) success
wgbps, are you sure the vertical perfs on this stamp can't squeeze into 11˝? The 'MO' in the watermark looks as if it could be part of 'COMMONWEALTH', which would likely make it a sheet margin copy of SG 347/8 or SG 362.
hi all.rechecked the perf's def' 12x12,(sg 258b) I do think on the lines of tonymacg &rod222 about sheet margin (no jackpot then) thanks all for helping to solve the mystery dave
