This morning, had a wild experience,
The bicycle club went out and we did 30 Kms in the country,
on the return, we startled a group of Kangaroos
feeding on the roadside, one adolescent went
careening into a fence, two adults cleared the
fence on the hop, and two juveniles, broke order
and slew across the road, and straight through
a wide mesh fence, and were skadoodling down
the firebreak alongside the road.

We were neck and neck with the little fellows
and when I looked down at the bike odometer,
we were doing 35.4 Kmph, amazing,
the little tackers were just loping alongside us,
for well over a kilometre.

What a wonderful experience.
I don't like Kangaroos, I don't think you can trust them.
They are all muscle and could rip you apart as quick as look at you.
I prefer they stay at a distance.

Steve

Where else in the world, would there be a country that ate their national icon.
A Roo, is as Aussie, as they come.
Australia's first stamp the Map of Australia and a Kangaroo.

Rod, nice to know that you are with the right mob. lol

I am of like mind as Triggersmob, though it would be wonderful to visit Australia. The continent with the most variety of the most poisonous snakes in the world.

Well, I'm jealous. I live in the country north of Toronto, and of course we don't have kangaroos. Last summer I was cycling out here, and was almost run off the road by a vole, a small mouse, who ran in and out from between my wheels. Not so stimulating.
Good on ya (is that how you say it?)

I don't think they put voles on Canadian stamps, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

That's very unkind. What did Rod222 ever do to you? To justify that, anyway

Oh Look! we have woken the beast.

Even as Aussies, we rarely come up close to
Kangaroos, they are a very flighty critter.
Then, in the country, the roads are so straight,
most tourists get in the car and sit on 100kph between towns.

If you wanna see the critters, you get on yer bike!

...and if <don't> wanna see yer waistline...get on yer bike

We need to do an exchange,
I'd love to see the wildlife of Canada
especially mice.
(That's the plural of Moose, right?)

Well, Tony, I was unaware that stating a pure fact could be considered unkind.

That's just like stating that in Panama there are over 120 different species of mosquito. That's hardly being unkind to the country I grew up in.

Smauggie, either you're being very diplomatic, or my elaborate tease of Rodney has fallen flat.

Be that as it may, I'm not surprised the 'roos made off for dear life. The sight of Rodney hurtling through the mulga atop his velocipede, all kitted out in lycra, would be enough to make women faint and strong men weep ...

The plural of mice is 'infestation'

And in Saskatchewan the mosquito is the national bird.
