Did you check with shortwave UV to make sure it is #3632A (prephosphored paper, solid tagging) and not #3632e (prephosphored paper, mottled tagging)? The latter is more common and catalogs at ~$2. Sometimes it is a bit hard to tell on used stamps, so check the tagging in the dark.

The plate S4444 also comes in two other flavors that are mentioned in Scott but not given minor catalog numbers. If you have longwavelength UV, check to see if the red ink is luminescent or not. The catalog value will be the same, but it is an additional variety to collect.

My 2011 U.S. Specialized shows a CV of $1.25 for a used single P#S4444. There is a note that a copy of this PNS with "solid" tagging (as opposed to tagging that appears uneven) is valued at $50. Have you checked the tagging?
