I am from Carmel, California. I started collecting stamps about 2 years ago. I started collecting because I am a WWII buff and collected Third Reich photos and death cards. Then I decided to collect stamps from all the counties from WWII. That created a stamp collecting monster...lol. Now I collect just about everything. I still collect the German Reich stamps but I am really into the older U.S. stamps. I also collect mint sets that are more modern. I would say my collection now is around 25-30 thousand stamps. In addition to stamps I collect Christmas seals and other charity seals.

I can tell that this site is going to be a daily stop for me. I have been looking for a place like this for a long time. The amount of information here is outstanding. I look forward to talking to you and making new stamp collecting friends.

Hi Sharksfan11,

Great to have you here.
There are few of us that collect German stamps.
That's quite a collection you have, mine would be about half that.

Have fun, post lots of pics and ask any questions you want.
We might not be able to answer them, but ask them anyway. LOL

Hey Steve welcome to the forum. I have some charity seals that I will scan and post later on and when you get your posts increased maybe we can see about some trading. I started to throw these seals out but decided not to because you never know when you may run across someone such as yourself that might be interested in them.

Welcome SHARKSFAN11!
What are the death cards you are speaking of? I had not heard of those before?
Please share with us your stamps! I have numerous Hitler stamps and an interest in the older German stamps.
Thanks!

to the family sharksfan! I also collect German but only used stamps(except that I'll take mint on booklets and souvenir sheets), cut sheets and covers.

Thank you for posting some of your collection. The death cards are very interesting!

Can you read/translate German, or do you just bully your way through it like the rest of us?

Thanks Sharksfan for showing us some of your collection! Wow, amazing stuff! Those death cards are what we call Memorial Cards here. Such young faces on those soldiers !

Good eye. There are a collection of MNH red cross stamps. do you like red cross stamps? I like the ones issued from Bohemia and Moravia during WWII. I have to check my Swiss stamps for the military stamps. Very cool stamps.
