I just made arrangements to purchase a rather large collection of of over 1,000 U.S. revenues all with insurance company cancels (I'll be paying on it for quite a while!).

Before I start integrating it with my own collection, I wanted to capture the collection intact. The collector was very meticulous: the stamps are in alphabetical order by insurance company, and within each company by Tolman reference number. That's what the little strips of paper are next to the stamps.

Having the attribution work done was one of the allures of the collection, which is another reason for photographing it now.

The pages are pictured at the link below. Clicking on any of the images will pop up a higher-resolution version of that image.

Some wonderful strikes and usages!

Those are excellent examples of US Revenues. Many (most) of them that I have are all invariably damaged in some way and I had been told all along that was very commonplace with US Revenues, however, your post shows few damaged stamps and the majority are intact and appear to be in great condition.

I don't know that I've ever seen a collection so well sorted by insurance companies.

That's quite a collection. Enjoy!

That is beyond exceptional! The stamps themselves are amazing but minor compared to the effort that had to go into putting them together and attaining such great cancels. There must be a good story behind these . Not sure if I would break it up even to fill in any of your needs. Seems they would stand alone as is, or maybe with hingeless display pages made specific per company. You'll have to excuse me now my keyboard has droool on it.

That is the best group of cancelled revenues I have seen. The time it took to collect & organize those must have been years in the making. I'm wondering if the collector you got them would part with any of his remaining collection? If he parted with those I suspect he has more and I would love an opportunity like you had. I'm just jealous, what can I say. Congratulations on your new collection. It would be hard for me to break up that grouping, it looks so good. I think you could put that collection in a show and win a prise!

Very nice collection revenue collector.

I can well understand that it will take a lot of examination before you can incorporate it in to your present collection. Once that is done, I am sure you will have a very nice representation of US revenues overall.

What a great set of revenues. Absolutely amazing and the work to put them together to match. A wonderful treasure.

However, I did note that several of the stamps were slipping away from they positions and some were upside down or out of the sleeve. I would be happy to extend my services in helping you straighten out the pages. If you just email me I will send you my address and you can send the pages. I will fix them and send them right back (heeheeehee ). You won't even know that were gone. (great stamps revenuecollector)

I think 'Astounding' is the one word I would choose to describe your new addition RevC. I imagine you are over the moon right now with the quantity and quality of your new additions! Thank-you very much for taking the time to scan and post it, really gives me something to aim for in terms of completeness for my own collection of Downey's.

Have a Good One, and have fun including them into your collection!

It is admirable that you respect the work done previously by preserving images of it. Well done.
