i have the first few stamps in my US flag book and a pair in my Lady Liberty... now I was considering setting them but date of issue (this makes the most sense to me) but another pattern that developed was by price..... wondering what folks thoughts are as I know its ultimately up to me.. just want to pick a group of great minds...
oh I have no doubt for every 100 posts I will get 400 answers (its kinda why I posted it LOL) as for your method.hm I like it but in this case all stamps will be US only
Why am I posting ? I would be the last person to give advice on organization..some of my friends(and my wife) put together very pleasing displays of their stamps...surely they will be rewarded more than I if and when the time comes to sell !!
ok upon further thought I think I have a plan but not really sure how to go about it.... as I am buying abulk lots most og the time I thin kafter sorting and such I wold look for the topical stamps I am doing and then place them as I get them with a notation that looks like this;
these pages will be online blank pages so I can plan the organization as I get the stamps in... year of issue / year of acquisition Scott catalog number
or should I try to find pages for my topics? so far I have had little luck finding free downloads on the topics.... US flags (US issued only) and Statue of Liberty (US issues only)
for the life book / General US book (not sure if I want to separate them out or do them as one book yet....
put them in by Year of Issue and Scott Number.... the question is do the commercial albums organize this way? or will I have to do all custom pages? if so going a little at a time will work instead of having a huge book that is empty LOL....
No right or wrong answers here ... but found this overview of Topical Stamp Collecting suggesting (in Section 5.l) chronologically by date of issue. That's only one opinion, though. In any event, you may find this "course" interesting:
