Your stamp is probably a #8A but could be a #6b or a #8. I might be able to plate the stamp later and tell you for sure. |

Looking at that stamp, I definitely see what must be the first "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" stamp. All of the appropriate features have been skilfully redacted.  Dave. |

I agree with Sinclair it looks like a type III Sc8 full used cv og around $2800.00. Unfortunately the faults would severely detract from that, but most definitely worth having Bill Weiss look at it. Bill doesn't do plating, which really needs be done to determine whether that bottom outside line is broken or not. It might better be a candidate for Richard Deporto first. Might also want to run it by the 1851 thread on Virtual Stamp Club where Bill and Dick Celler can have a look. Russ should have a look too, of course. |

I have acquired a 19th century collection of mostly used US stamps and Revenues,and Foreign stamps. There is over 300 of these stamps, so I'll be posting for quite awhile!
