US Post Office Closings - Is USPS Trying To Circumvent Law?

If anyone has been following this issue in the news, several sources are suggesting that this is merely a back-door approach the USPS is taking to circumventing existing Laws. It is claimed the end result will allow the USPS to change post office designations to "Stations" or "Branches" which ultimately would give them unlimited power to close them at will, with no need for a public hearing, as well as a greatly shortened notification process.

Maybe - just maybe - folks oughta let the USPS try to make it itself self sufficient. It worked in Canada - where postal services make a profit.
