Good Morning everyone!! well it is over here. Thanks to all re this stamp. One thing I would like to let you know is the "paper" it is on is fairly stiff, like cardboard. Should it be like that if a proof?

Proofs were printed on numerous types of paper including card stock. I haven't researched them enough to know the reason, so I'll have to defer to someone else on that.
I did bid on that stamp that is why I remember it the the colour looked Gray not red lilac so I wondered if it was a proof but I couldn't find enough info on the 37c to say weather it was a proof or not which is why I didn't bid to high on it ( you outbid me for it )even though it would have been nice to own an Imperf of I stamp I haven't got but without knowing all the info I wasn't prepared to commit especially being as one of the other stamps he had for sale was a 15c lincon proof and the right proof is worth money and the wrong proof is not worth a lot

On this particular proof ... yes. Card stock is very thick and stiff.
As for getting this stamp expertized? That's a personal preference. I won't pay for expertization for items worth < $100 unless it's worthy of grading as well.
