I've been in the hobby since about 1980, had an 'away' stint from about 1987-1997. My interests are in U.S. First Day Covers; specifically, those that have a FDOI (or Unofficial) in North Carolina and issues that have a Fire Service theme.

Here's one of my latest creations as Cachets by FDCUSA:

Welcome to SCF --- from a fellow North Carolinian.

I'm in the far western part of the state.

Glad to have you here jwhite. FDC are a great lot of stamps. You will find many interesting and fun things while you are here and the best part is we already are learning from you. (I never even gave thought to the first fireboat and now you have a great cover for it). Great scan and wonderful to have you aboard. - Jeff

Yes, it is nice to come to a hobby forum where there seems to be ZERO bickering! The 'other' site has more technical information which is why I still peruse it still; rarely do I post as there are a couple 'you-know-whos' that (imo) think they are godly (I'll stop there). So far, I haven't seen that here! Now, I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I do know a lot about FDCs and am more than happy to spread the knowledge in a friendly fashion, and at the same time learn more myself!
