I suspect that is as likely the correct flag as can be told from the stamp.

Fore: The English Ensign
Aft: Pre-Revolution Colonial Flag
Main Mast: The Kings Standard

The two other mast flags are unknown to me and not in my notes/Books.

But am checking, also Rod's post...interesting

Here is a Sovereign of the Seas 1637 flag set. The red/gold flag matches the one shown in the model from LB1's link.

However, it doesn't match the one shown in the stamp. I believe the red/gold flag in the stamp may have been simplified because of resolution. Here is another flag set for the Sovereign of the Seas. The red/gold flag in this set seems to match the one in the stamp a little better. However, I cannot find a specific "official" name list of the flags shown in the set.

That's the most I've been able to find.

The website for the seller of the flagsets is http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk.

Maybe you could email them and ask?

Thanks for the contributions guys!
Some great links, and images,
have to agree with khj, the lower image I think is the one
and described as either "coat of arms" or "emblem"
whatever that means.

The royal emblem of Charles 1st

footnote: charles 1st was beheaded in 1649
but his head was sewn back on later.
later Oliver Cromwell was beheaded as well.

That fits in.
The Coat of Arms on the top Flag set is that of Charles 1st. So the other pairs are the Emblem,Colonial and Standard.

Nice lot, nice thread.

....and it's Flags !

Hi Rodney,

Anytime you are trying to identify a flag, if an actual flag, start with the following:
