David that is very cool. Never even heard of the brand, but very unusual (at least for me) to see the stamp still with an unopened pack. Great scan! |

Never heard of it either, but apparently it was an American Tobacco Company product (i.e. makers of Pall Mall, Lucky Strike, etc.) Here's an ad from Life Magazine dated 09/15/1958 on it: |

Wow I've smoked my fair share of stuff throughout the decades but those would have to be little stale by now. Great example of the stamp in use. Just don't leave them anywhere near a quiting smoker or it may get attacked. |

Smoked for 30 years. Got really sick, was on my way to see the Doctor, and like an idiot light up a smoke. Started hacking so bad had to pull off the road and hack up about half a lung. I reached in my shirt pocket and threw out an almost new pack and a new lighter and haven't had one since. That was 15 years ago. Had an Uncle back when I was about 10 or 11 Who had kept a pack of Erzatz cigarettes it the freezer (I think they were called) They were Japanese and made out of fish skin. He gave me one and then laughed when I hurked up my toenails. nice way to have the stamp though. |
