Fincbob2451, on the first cover, the obliterator cancel "162" signifies that it was cancelled in Cardiff. There are books that identify which numbers were assigned to what towns/cities in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

mchpp, Thanks for that information. I have often wondered if people collect postal markings like that. Do you know what the numbers on the postage itself mean? From left to right they look like 22-2-60 at the bottom of the postage. Thanks david
