New to the forum and making a comeback to stamps after about 25-30 years. My dad got me started with a Minuteman album when I was a kid, and I'm guessing I stopped when I was 12 or 13(my last supplement is #15 from 1983). After cleaning out the basement, I found my old album and a couple of small boxes of stamps, and thought it would be fun to start up again. Just ordered a few things to help organize (a Lindner stockbook that I'm not sure I like, as well as a Vario binder and pages that I think will suit my needs much better), and my 10 year old daughter wants her own album for a packet of Disney-themed stamps she has claimed from my stash. I'm interested in finding a good display album for mounting mint/unused stamps, and also in learning about topical albums.

Sorry that was so long! I'm off to explore the forum...

Welcome, the whole concept of mounting and displaying stamps is a diverse area. The 3 main things to consider is what do you collect, how much money do you want to spend and how much time do you want to spend. There are several threads on the forum with a lot of ideas about albums and displaying. You should get a lot of good suggestions from the members here.

I am glad to hear that your daughter is also picking up stamp collecting, it is a good family project.

From a fellow Illinoisan! I also started off with a Minuteman and my wife use to collect Disney, but has since shelved the collection. Let us know how we can help you and your daughter.

Welcome Nichole and I think you'll be happy with the lighthouse Vario pages. I too just got some and they work out wonderfully! I too have a little girl (3YO) and she too enjoys helping me and laying claim to stuff she finds curious in my little collection...it's OK though as long as she's interested in it. Enjoy the forum as there are MANY wise and knowledgeable and kind folks here that love to help a novice, I know first hand and am very grateful! Enjoy!
