Bearwithfish, it is difficult to guess the number of stamps because you stated that there are stamps off and on paper in the batch. I would guess between 200 and 300 but it could be higher if there are lots of off paper stamps.

BWF,

1 gram = 0.0352739619 ounces

26 g = 0.917123 oz.

26 g = not many stamps.

bearwithfish, I often use this rough calculation for my count that one stamp off paper is about 0.08g, sometimes it works well.

Off paper 10,000 / pound (small)
Off paper 6,000 / pound (large)

On paper 2,500 /pound (small)
on paper 1,500 /pound (US comm and large)

Based on that I'll guess 271

please post what you receive.

I just weighed 26 grams of Australian Red cross mix
(lot of paper on those babies)
=137 stamps

I think as I paid $1 for the lot and $2 for shipping from Romania I did good with this lot and the stamps are wonderful all in great shape no bends not messed up perfs they are perfect....

.03 per stamp (with shipping). You did very well! Were they Romanian and other Eastern European countries? Postally used examples seem to be preferrable to CTOs.
