Hello there! I'm soon to have these in my possession and curious as to exactly what they are? I thought them very curious, as I noticed they have no perforations! I cannot find them in my postal service guide book so maybe you can in one of yours hopefully. Do think they're worth anything? I only gave a few bucks for them so I'm not worried about value either way. I'm just very curious as to what they are. Thank you for any help in advance!

Could be proofs. I don't know that much about US Proofs, but that is my best guess.

These are Proofs. You can find them in the back of the Scott Specialized catalogue. These come on various types of paper and in some cases, colors.

The top one is a 122p4, 90c Lincoln on card. Cat value: $150

Strange how Black Jack isn't even centered properly on a proof. Think that big head shot really messes up the printers. Nice stamps love the color on the Lincoln.

These were scissor cut, Nitro, so the poor centering is due to the wielder of said scissors.

What I'm not sure on is how were these printed ... that is, were they single dies, or large plates? I know card proofs can be rather large, so I'd lean towards single dies, but I'd like to know more if someone can chime in.

If you went back now and cut the stamps to even them out, would that decrease their value in any way? Or would it not matter?

YES. Don't re-cut them!

They're very nice. Proofs generally don't catalog as high as the actual stamps, but can be quite valuable.
