I am looking for a precancel varity of this and I cannot find one however I see one for the others like 1286, 1287, 1288.
This has a Chicago ILL precancel which I am guessing it is local precancel which is why it is not listed.
Anyone have any input for me.

[W] In the Prominent American Issues, Chicago had many precancel overprints.
Starting with 1278 had a Bureau precancel type 81, 1280 had 71 & 81, 1281/81, 1282/71/81,
1283B/71/81, 1284/71, 1285/71, 1286/71, 1286A/71/81, 1288/71/81, 1289/81, 1290/71 1291/71/81, 1293/71/81, 1294/71/81, 1299/81, 1303/81, 1304/81(some imperforate), 1305/81,
1305E/81, then Electroplates on 1293 & 1294 with type 265.

Bureaus are issued & overprinted by the PO Bureau then send, as in this case, to Chicago.
The Electroplates mentioned above are cases where the PO Bureau sent a device to Chicago to apply overprints locally.

Why not mentioned in Scott's? Example: the state of Illinois had 990 other towns that used some form of precancel.
