I was pleased in the beginning to find a mint "Block" of the Canada Xmas stamp,...however, upon further inspection it is split up the bottom 2 stamps, but still connected by the top 2 stamps (am I making sense?!) anyways, I'm looking for opinions on what its fate should be. Should I leave it sound in its album so it LOOKS like the sound block it once was? Or should I refuse to be a liar and seperate them into pairs. Ouch, it hurts to ask/think about it...but really? Thoughts?...better yet, is it still a block? ~Ash

A lot of blocks and se-tenants have partial separation. I would leave it as a block; you're not really lying, and if you are, only to yourself.

If you sell it, then disclose the facts.

Kirk

Phewww! You made me feel much better Kirk! I must admit I was very dissapointed when I realized it was split. I will leave it alone tucked away never to be touched again!...and no, I was not the culprit! LOL I will never consider selling it (honestly it is one of the few valuable stamps I own) but just out of curiosity, how much does that make the value go down? Alot? Thanks as always for any info :) ~Ash

Ash, thanks for asking the question. I have a mint block of 4 Canadian Mountie stamps (Scott #223) that has a four perf horizontal separation. I was disappointed to discover this and was contemplating separating them. Given Kirk's recommendation, I will also leave it as is and continue enjoying the block.
Regards
Mike
