Time to dig up an old thread.

I'm starting to get low on my stock of airmail labels - down to half a half a pack. I know I couldn't order them off the USPS website. They aren't listed (although I did see there's a special label for "Cremated Remains" - creepy.

So I called the USPS customer service phone number and was informed that the airmail labels are no longer printed, Label 19-B as shown above. Whatever you can find at your local post office will be the last of them.

Guess I'll get myself another handstamp made. I'm thinking blue ink to offset my red First Class, Do Not Bend handstamp.

I got these a few months ago.

I picked up a couple of strips like these last month too. I was mailing a package and they were laying on the counter by the clerk's scale. I asked I I could have a couple of strips and he said sure. That was the first time I had seen any in my local post office for a long time.

It's interesting that the Air Mail Labels are no longer available from the USPS, as USPS Regulations per the International Mail Manual, Section 334.2(b) at this link directs that such labels be affixed to certain Registered Mail ... and this directive was just updated July 7, 2014!:

I stopped by a post office today and sure enough on their desk were some Air Mail labels. I asked if I could have a few and the gave them to me. It is interesting, however, to note that they have really gone down in size.

Here is a comparison of the 19-B Labels. The larger ones measure about 2-5/8" W x 1-1/4" H and are dated April 1997. The smaller ones (the ones currently at the post office today) measure about 1" H x 1-9/16" W and are dated January 2002.

Anyone know the measurements of both dates of the Blue 19B?

PoStat4evR, I love your rubber stamp prints....especially of the Connie (Constellation, 3 vertical stabilizers)which takes me back to my youth!

Thank you wt1!!

Just out of curiosity, weren't the two sizes posted separately and then revised?
And were the measurements added upon combining the two?

I ask because as I hit the "Submit Reply" button, I actually saw the two
different sizes come together on your revision. Go figure. If so, my question was related
to the prior post, which may have not had the dimensions on it??? Hoping, hoping.

Any way wt1, you are always "Johnny-ON-The-Spot" and I appreciate it!
