Thanks to everyone that answered my last post "New to Stamp Collecting" I've decided to start with the 1976 commemorative set. Can anyone point me in a direction to obtain these at a fair price? I'm also interested in the four souvenir sheets from this year. Any information will help.
Thank you

Hello & to S.C.F.! Are you maybe referring to these? If so I just bought them on ebay last week for a few bucks literally like 4 or 6 bucks with shipping. |

Vario stock sheets [S1's or S2's] probably and then in place in my binder, but they are living in an U.S.P.S. cardboard mailer for now stuck in my binder sadly until I make another lighthouse order. Why do you ask? Any good ideas? Also, there is a ton of bicentennial issues from '75 & '76 which ones in particular because I may be able to point you in the right direction on those hopefully. |

I have a set of those sheets as well, and am also wondering how people have mounted them in their albums

One word of caution: Depending on how well they are stored, those USPS Souvenir Sheets have gum on the back (the old "lick and stick" stamps). I've had experience with storing the souvenir sheets in the USPS mailer that they can start to stick together after awhile. It's better if they are separated from the mailer and either stored in mounts or stock pages of some sort. As I've mentioned on other threads in the past, if you're not committed to store these sheets in a stamp album, this is a good alternative, available in a variety of sizes at most craft stores, and typically less costly than stock pages: http://www.artprofolio.com/Art_profolio.htm |

Okay. I have the 4 souvenir sheets, Scott #s 1686-1689. I use printed mailing labels to label my display sheets and I include the Scott number. I also have a data base of all the stamps I own. Which sheet is which number? |
