Not until I read the article did I even know about the Hopedale Penny Post Stamp the writer is looking out for, even though I must have scanned over the pages of Local Stamps in my Scott Specialized Catalog many times.
Strange, when I saw the date, I thought 1911. A very interesting article. The author makes several great points. Stamps are the best teachers around for geography. I know that as a teen, I looked up every place that was strange (to me) which had issued stamps. Learned more than school had ever taught.
