Every once in a while, you run across these fascinating items that spark your imagination.

On the surface, this is a nice little Postal Stationery item, a bit tatty, cancelled March 30, 1928, Windsor, NC. The announcement on the back is for a (College???) dance in April.

Now, on venues like "Antiques Road Show" Advertising for famous rock bands commands huge premiums but I don't imagine that the Panther Pack Orchestra falls into this category. So, we'll just look at it as neat period ephemera.

What really leaves me quivering with curiousity is, "What did Ruby have to tell Spike at the Big Easter Hop?"

What a nice window into a long ago and forgotten dance. Let's hope it all worked out between Ruby and Spike. Do I read the date as 1928? If so, it probably was a "red hot" band playing that wicked jazz.
